Brief

Merging at the intersection where photography and graphic design meet, Axiom tells the stories of two creators through a coffee table photobook showcasing five years of work. Approached with thought-provoking detail and delicate craftsmanship, these 40-page handmade books feature an intimate selection of sophisticated imagery and prose by Morgan Dezurn and Rheagen King. They wanted to create an accessible book and design experience that could be engaged online or in hand without wasting resources and honoring sustainable consumer models.

Solution

We generated a presale for the book to generate the exact number of copies we needed and to conserve resources. We aimed to create an intimate and cohesive experience through design that folks could interact with online if they chose not to purchase the book. We also utilized IG Stories to sell postcards and carousel posts to tell the conceptual story of our branding. We shot documentation of the book in Baltimore furniture store Cedar and Cotton to showcase where the book could live in someone’s space.

Axiom utilizes the em dash to personify stages of awareness. These stages of awareness explore the self-evident truths, desires, and interests that permeate our creative process.

LINE ACTS AS A RECURRING VISUAL ELEMENT TO SYMBOLIZE THIS, ORGANICALLY CHANGING IN LENGTH, PLACEMENT, AND SUBTLE CURVATURE.

We utilized Morgan and Rheagen’s initial, alternating their order and connecting them with a line to create two distinct logos that personify their unique perspectives.

All packaging touchpoints are meant to be reused and recycled by consumers.
